[2025.11.27] GRL Seminar: EV Smart Charge Management and Cybersecurity in the EV Charging Ecosystem

2 Dec 2025

On November 27, 2025, the Global Research Laboratory (GRL) hosted a seminar featuring Dr. Myung-Soo Jeon from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL, Golden, CO), which is affiliated with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Dr. Jeon delivered a talk titled “EV Smart Charge Management and Cybersecurity in the EV Charging Ecosystem.” In his presentation, he introduced the Smart Charge Management System that has been deployed and is currently in operation on the NREL campus, and shared key findings from analyses based on the EV charging data collected through this system. Through these case studies, he provided in-depth insights into the latest trends and future directions in smart charging and EV infrastructure research.

During the seminar, GRL members engaged in active discussions with Dr. Jeon on how to address and enhance cybersecurity within the EV charging ecosystem. They also exchanged views on the growing importance of EV smart charge management, making the session a highly meaningful opportunity for knowledge sharing.

This seminar offered GRL a valuable chance to explore the state-of-the-art research trends in the digitalization and security of EV infrastructure. Building on this experience, GRL will continue to expand its capabilities by maintaining close communication and collaboration with experts in the energy sector.
