About the lab

The Laboratory for Probability and Statistical Modeling (PSM), established in 2005, is dedicated to developing advanced statistical solutions for complex challenges across various domains. Our primary research areas include Nano-Scale Device reliability, data mining for manufacturing, renewable energy systems, and risk management in Financial Engineering.


Big Data Analysis & Data Mining
Our lab specializes in uncovering patterns within large structured and unstructured datasets using methods at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistics. Current projects include identifying process factors affecting quality, analyzing anomalies, and developing context-aware recommendation systems to improve user experience.

Reliability Analysis
With the growing complexity of Nano-scale devices, our research focuses on identifying and modeling micro-level defects that affect product reliability. By developing standardized reliability frameworks, we aim to improve the performance and longevity of devices such as OLEDs and PDPs, which are critical in modern electronics.

Fuel Cells
To ensure the reliability of renewable energy technologies, our lab investigates the degradation mechanisms of fuel cells. We focus on creating systematic evaluation models to predict and improve their performance under various conditions, supporting the transition to sustainable energy solutions.

Financial Engineering
Our work in Financial Engineering includes developing decision-making models to manage risks in volatile markets. By leveraging probabilistic models, time-series analysis, and optimization techniques, we aim to provide robust tools for asset management, bankruptcy prediction, and financial security design.
